The counseling services offer orientation and assistance in social and legal matters for asylum seekers and refugees who are still eligible for basic support.

Before you visit the counseling center, we ask you to clarify by telephone whether a personal appearance at the counseling center is absolutely necessary for your request. If possible, an appointment should be made by telephone before a personal visit.

The staff of the counseling centers will help you to clarify your prospects and assist you in contacting the authorities. People who live in private households are offered support in all social matters of everyday life for as long as they need help.  In crisis situations, the staff provide advice and support in cooperation with other social and medical institutions. This can involve a wide range of difficult life situations, from family problems to physical and mental illnesses. Furthermore, the counseling services support asylum seekers in applying for the basic benefits that are granted by the public authorities to those in need of assistance. The counseling services are also responsible for paying the food allowance granted by the public authorities within the framework of basic care.
